Description:
Gilt silver snuffbox; rounded rectangular body with straight sides; applied stamped scroll band around the sides; applied molded band applied around the base; base stamped and chased with foliate scrolls and small circles; hinge, slightly domed cover with a plain, applied band and applied concave sides; cover chased and stamped, chased, " D L V A" cipher in the center, chased trefoils in the corners and stamped circles all over; heavily gilt interior; no maker's mark.
