Description:
Gold wire frame spectacles with slanted oval lenses, K-shaped nosepiece, and wire temples; housed in oblong leather case with open end.
Gallery Label:
According to the donor, these spectacles were worn by her great-grandfather, Thomas Ruggles Gold (1764-1827), a New York State senator. However, based on the style of the spectacles, they were made after Gold's death.
