Description:
Tin, leather, and iron spur; U-shaped tin spur with cylindrical stud at bottom, sliding brown leather frog fastened to strap that snaps onto two iron studs at top, and circular-link chain suspended from spur with ring; stamped mark on strap.

According to accession records, this spur was part of the dress saddle equipment that belonged to the donor's husband, Robert Lee Bullard. After graduating from the U.S. Military Academy in 1885, Bullard served in the campaign against Apache leader Geronimo and in the Spanish-American and Phillippine wars, before his promotion to major-general in command of the U.S. First and Third Divisions during World War I.
