Description:
Metal arched-band spurs witha cylindrical goad fitted with a ball head with a spiked wheel inside; buttons on the ends of the bands; leather boot straps attach to the buttons.
Gallery Label:
These spurs were worn by Colonel Thomas Henry Barber (1844-1905) of the 1st Regiment of Infantry, New York Volunteers, during the Spanish-American War. He was appointed Brigadier-General by the President of the United States for the War with Spain on January 10, 1899. The donor was his son.
