Description:
Aluminum struck medal with obverse depicting gothic church building within central roundel, surrounded by legend: "TO COMMEMORATE THE OPENING BY THE EARL OF ABERDEEN BY COMMAND OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN/BUILT 1120. DESTROYED 1385. REBUILT 1387. PARTITIONED 1572. RESTORED 1883."; inscription in exergue: "ST. GILES CHURCH/EDINBURGH." Reverse shows vaulted interior of a gothic church with inscription in exergue: "INTERIOR AS RESTORED/23 MAY 1883."
