Description:
Cast iron still bank in the form of the battleship Maine, with three abstracted stacks and gun turrets of varying heights (painted red and yellow), with slot (for coins) in shortest turret; three places for guns below decks on each side of bank; cast inscription just below top deck on sides, with additional lettering at very bottom.
Gallery Label:
F. J. Zecher took out a design patent for this bank on November 15, 1898. The patent was assigned to the Grey Iron Casting Company, which made two sizes (4 1/2" and 6 5/8" long) of this between the years 1898 and 1903. (See Publications)
