Description: 
Black silk stock collar with ruching on both sides near the throat, a fabric strap on the left side which fastens on the right side to a stock buckle with double-tongued chape, 2 snaps at the top to adjust the collar's fit; lined with black silk, a tab with a buttonhole on the right side and at the center; white silk fabric tape trim at the upper edge.
Gallery Label: 
This stock collar was worn by George A. Zabriskie (1868-1954), a descendent of Albert Zabriskie who came from Poland in 1662 to settle in New Amsterdam. During World War I, George served as adviser to the government on the commodities of flour and sugar. He became a life member of the Society in 1920, was elected treasurer in 1929, and was chosen president in 1939. The Society also owns other pieces of this uniform.
