Description:
This black laquered wooden canister has silver paint applied to the outside to create a silhouette pattern of branches, cherubs with bows, a dog, and a heron on the base with a man giving flowers to a woman on the lid. The metal rimmed hole in the lid indicates that it was used as a string or yarn dispenser.
