Description:
Wrought silver sugar bowl; oval body with tapered sides; two concave flutes at each end with gadrooning between the flutes on the lower body; reeded, squared strap handles, tapered towards the base; engraved on the front center with the crest of the Beare family of New York, a bird on a tied bundle of sticks, over, "H C B" in bright-cut script; maker's mark on the base.
