Description:
Wrought and seamed Colonial Revival sugar bowl and creamer; oval, fluted bodies with straight sides; cast, squared strap handles; all over bright-cut engraving, foliate scroll bands around the base and top of the body, wheel turned design around the edge of the shoulders; shield-shaped reserves on the front and rear of the bodies, front reserves engraved, "J T A" in script; retailer's marks on the bases.

Given to Julia Anna Toller (1847-1937) and Johnson Livingston De Peyster (b. 1846) by Mary Toller (d. 1884) at the time of their marriage in 1871.
