Description:
Colorless, lead glass; pressed. Sugar bowl and cover; octagonal bowl with ogee-curved sides and flared rim on circular pedestal base; scrolled decoration on each panel and lattice-work on underside of base; octagonal domed cover with ogee-curved sides with finial; decorated in "California pattern;" panels decorated with lattice-work, floral motifs, feather motifs, and cornucopia (on inside of cover).
Gallery Label:
This pattern is known as the "California pattern," probably in reference in the 1849 California Gold Rush.
