Description:
Wrought silver sugar bowl with lid; urn-shaped body on a round, stepped pedestal with a beaded ring; pedestal applied to a square base with a beaded band around the edge; beaded rim; circular domed lid surmounted by a cast urn finial; wheel turned and engraved twisted band around the flat edge of the lid and below the rim on the body; bright-cut, oval reserve suspended from a floral garland; reserve engraved, "G. M. S./ to/ G. J. S./ to J. E. S./ 1868" in script; below reserve engraved, "J. G. S./ 1928" in script; maker's marks on the base.
