Description:
Wrought silver sugar bowl with lid; oval, boat-shaped body with wide gadroons around the lower body; seated on an oval splayed foot with a vertically applied, chased and repousséd foliate footring; body flares to an applied, chased and repousséd foliate band below a convex shoulder with a vertically applied, chased and repousséd foliate rim; oval lid raised in the center to an oval, domed platform surmounted by a cast basket of fruit finial; two c-scroll handles, cast in vertical halves, crimped in the center; single terminal attaches handles to the upper body, double lower terminals; engraved, "A F M" on the front center in script; makers' marks on the base.
