Description:
White linen private's summer dress trousers; 5 bone button fly, with one interior button at the fly below the waistband, right side watch pocket below the waistband, vertical slit pockets at the side seams; 2 straps at the back which buckle at the center on rectangular metal buckle with double-tongued chape; waistband, pockets, and leg hems lined with plain weave linen.

These summer dress trousers were worn by Private Henry Pearl Talmadge during his service in Company K, 7th Regiment, New York National Guard, from 1870-1877.
