Description:
Dress sword with straight, double-edged steel blade decorated with gilding and blue enamel and inscribed "GOTT SEGNE DIE STADT" and "UND ERHALTE IHRE FREIHEIT" on obverse and reverse; blade is elliptical in cross section; gilded brass hilt cast in three pieces: heart-shaped counter-guard, C-shaped knuckle-bow with short cross quillons, and pommel in the form of an urn with eight side panels and flattened ball finial; grip wrapped with alternating turns of narrow-guage twisted wire, medium-gauge twisted wire, and plain wire.
