Description:
Sword with slightly curved, single-edged steel blade with three-quarter length fuller; steel half-basket hilt with two branches, one of which is forked, on obverse side and quillon with globular finial; grip covered in charcoal gray fish skin and wrapped with twisted brass wire; helmet-shaped pommel with backstrap extending to ferrule at base of grip; steel scabbard with two carrying rings and slightly asymmetrical drag; shield-shaped silver plaque with engraved inscription is mounted between carrying rings on obverse.

The monogram of Walter Cutting, the original owner of this sword, is engraved on a silver plaque mounted on the scabbard.
