Sword with straight, single-edged steel blade with a fuller extending from ricasso to point and etched designs on obverse and reverse; brass hilt with counter-guard consisting of two shell-shaped pieces, a fixed piece on the obverse side and a hinged piece on the reverse, and grip molded to resemble wire wrapping; counter-guard on obverse side is cast in one piece with knuckle-bow, the center of which is decorated with a floral motif on either side, and straight quillon with bulbous tip with molded ornament and small knob finial; urn-shaped pommel with molded ornamental band and flattened ball finial cast separately; brass scabbard with upper band with elongated frog stud and two carrying rings, middle band with one carrying ring, and slightly asymmetrical drag; elaborate engraving on upper half of obverse.
