Description:
Sword with double-edged steel blade with serpentine edges and incised decoration on upper half of obverse and reverse; top of blade is flared, with applied strips of brass and ornately serrated edges; wooden grip is wrapped with twine and bound at either end by a metal (silver?) band; slightly twisted T-shaped wooden pommel.

According to the accession records, this sword was acquired by the donor's husband, Colonel James Guthrie Harbord (1866-1947), while serving as Assistant Chief of Philippines Constabulary, U. S. Army, from 1903 to 1914.
