Description:
Pair of silver tablespoons with upturned handles with short midribs on the fronts and the engraved initials, "T/ S M" in block letters on the undersides; elliptical bowls with long drops; maker's marks on the undersides of the stems.
Gallery Label:
These tablespoons belonged to Dr. Stephen Tallman (1702-1774) and his wife Mary Potter (b. 1706/07), who married in Shrewsbury, New Jersey in 1724.
