Description:
Navy wool double-breasted tail coat with a black velvet collar, pointed lapels and two rows of five brass buttons up the front; cut straight across the front of the waist, curving around the hips into split back tails; lined with balck silk.

This tail coat is part of the wedding outfit of Leverett Hyslop Sage, who married Maria Anderson, May 10, 1854.
