Description:
Mahogany tall case clock decorated with oak stringing; hood has broken scroll pediment and door has arched glass window flanked by colonettes; clock has black painted Roman numerals, dial for seconds, and window with black painted date; arched section above dial has circular reserve with polychrome scene of house and tree by water; waist has quarter columns at corners and door with serpentine top and oval of inlaid stringing; square base with circle of inlaid stringing.

According to the accession records, this clock originally belonged to General Philip Schuyler (1733-1804), a Revolutionary officer and New York politician.
