Description:
Porcelain cup with shaped edges decorated in gold with iron red embellishments; gold rim with gold husk below it; red and gold oval medallion with 2 birds facing each other standing on a red and gold bar and with a flower between them.
Gallery Label:
This tea service was owned by Ann (Rapelje) Duyckinck (1733-1789), who married Gerardus Duyckinck in 1752. According to the donor, the set was acquired at the time of their wedding; however, it was probably made about thirty-five years later, when such porcelain became available on the American market.
