Description:
Seamed silver teapot in the Japanese style; squat, square body with slightly curved sides; silver, gold and copper mounts; a vine with leaves meanders around the pot with a copper gourd hanging from it, with a gold butterfly, a copper and gold dragonfly and a copper butterfly applied below; square, hinged lid with a silver leaf mount and a copper beetle; carved, split peach jade finial; silver loop handle with ivory insulators; wide cast flange handle sockets; straight tapered spout with a scrolled bracket between the body and upper spout seam; four curved trapezoidal feet; handle engraved with a bishops miter (unidentified family crest,) and the initials, "A. W. R." in block letters; makers' marks on the base.
