Silver-plated teaspoon with pointed oval bowl, and pointed handle with upturned tip and Olive pattern decoration; engraved intials on obverse of handle; stamped maker's mark on reverse.

According to the accession records, this teaspoon was given to Frances Augusta Beals at her marriage to George Baker on May 20, 1844. However, electroplated silver flatware was not manufactured in the U.S. until after 1850.
