stamped: on the underside of the handles: "F. MARQUAND" in a conforming rectangle, bust in an ovoid, lion passant in a chamfered rectangle, and "G" in an oval
engraved: on the handle: "AL" in script
Description:
silver teaspoon with a downturned fiddle end handle with basket decoration and the initials, "AL" engraved in script; flared shoulders and a pointed oval bowl with shell decoration; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the handle.
Gallery Label:
This teaspoon originally belonged to Harriet Jackson Lyon (1807-1854, Mrs. Peter MacMartin), whose initials are engraved on the handles.
