Bronze struck medal with obverse showing Samuel Champlain holding sword and hat, at center, disembarking a boat; royal crowns with initials below at either side: "H./IV.", at left, and "E./VII.", at right, with dolphins holding scrolls dated: ".1608." and ".1908.", respectively, below; legend: "IIIe . CENTENAIRE . DE . LA . FONDATION . DE . QVEBEC ."; inscription within rectangular tablet below: "STADACONE". Reverse depicts two seated female figures, facing each other, with state symbols of France and Canada; maple tree at center with superimposed scrolled band bearing inscription: ".DIEU.AIDANT./.L'OEUVRE.DE.CHAMPLAIN./NEE.SOUS.LES.LIS./A.GRANDI.SOUS.LES.ROSES."
