Description:
Cotton roller-printed textile fragment with a central portrait medallion of Andrew Jackson with an American bald eagle to his right, a frigate (U.S.S. Constitution) to his left, and portraits of the first six presidents of the United States below; all on a ground of clouds; printed in blue ink on a white ground.
Gallery Label:
This textile was adapted from an earlier French toile with the inscription "Les Presidents des Etats-Unis." The French version includes the eagle, but the frigate and Jackson are not printed.
