Description:
Wrought silver tray in the Chrysanthemum pattern; flat, circular scalloped tray with raised and stepped sides; cast, chrysanthemum leaf and flower band applied around the rim; engraved in the center, "MBM" in foliate script; makers' marks on the base.
Gallery Label:
This tray, and its accompanying pitcher, were a wedding gift to Wilmot Townsend Cox of Glen Cove, Long Island and Maria Duane Bleecker of Long Beach, Long Island, who married in 1896.
