Description:
Dark blue wool trousers; 6 button fly; 6 buttons around the waistband; right side horizontal slit watch pocket, vertical slit pockets at the side seams (no rear pockets); 2 straps at the back beneath waistband which fasten on rectangular metal buckle with double-tongued chape; all buttons and buckle frame impressed with "BROOKS BROTHERS"; waist and pockets lined with white cotton.
Gallery Label:
These trousers are part of a uniform worn by G. Creighton Webb (1854-1948) in the Spanish-American War. The black shoulder straps and collar insignia identify him as a staff officer with the department of Inspector General, U.S. Volunteer Army.
