Description:
Wood case housing typewriting machine; front of case has metal plate engraved with a feather quill and "Hall Typewriter Co./ New York"; inside is a keyless typing device that is operated by placing the stylus over an opening indicating the correct character and pressing down on an activation lever. A label on the inside lid provides instruction and a plate on the typing platform is embossed "Hall Typewriter Co./ New York/ Patented Mar. 1, 1881".
