Description:
Brown wool and linen militia officer's waistcoat with 5/8" open stand-up collar, with 9 metal buttons from the collar to the bottom hem, buttons cast with an eagle and a quadrant shield, with "EXCELSIOR" across the bottom; a placket pocket on each side at the stomach, a slant watch pocket at the left breast; back made of browon twill-weave linen, with 2 straps at the waist which buckle at the center with rectangular double swivel tongue buckle (no chape); lined with camel-colored linen.
