Description:
Engraved and polychromed scrimshaw whale's tooth, engraved on the obverse with a tall ship flying an American glag at the stern and two other unidentifiable flags at mast.

The scene is a poor copy of an American whaler, maybe after Louis Lebreton, Paris, circa 1850.
