Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse showing clothed bust of William Muhlenberg facing right, flanked by two vertical inscriptions: "WILLIAM AVGVSTVS/MVHLENBERG D.D.", at left, and "FOUNDER of St. LVKE'S/HOSPITAL", at right. Reverse depicts hospital's seal with palm and oak branches, at right, with inscription at center of field: "THE AMERICAN/NUMISMATIC and ARCHAEOLOGICAL/SOCIETY/COMMEMORATES BY THIS MEDAL/THE OPENING OF THE NEW/St. LVKE'S HOSPITAL/MDCCCXCVI." White circular cardboard box.
