"The Young Athlete" board game in a paper covered cardboard and wood box with a paper gameboard applied to the bottom haf of the box, four wooden playing pieces and two card board spinners with metal arrows; box cover chromolithographed with boys excercising on gymnastic equipment; box cover inscribed, "THE/ YOUNG ATHLETE/ COPYRIGHT 1898, BY CHAFFEE & SELCHOW, NEW YORK"; board chromolithographed with an oval track around an inner track with stops at different pieces of gymnastic exquipment including parallel bars, high bar and a pole vault; directions printed on the underside of the cover.
