The two metal caps can be removed to expose shaker tops.

Thimble case

Description: 
A wood thimble display case with a glass lid that opens on a hinge and black velvet covered fitted compartments for 72 thimbles but with 80 thimbles, including duplicates, presently installed. The thimbles either advertise a product, business or politician. Thirteen thimbles represent political campaigns, eleven advertise laundry services, twelve are for food products, ten advertise insurance companies, eight advertise sewing products, four represent newspapers, four are for vacuum cleaners, three for furnaces, two for furniture, two for a music store and two for shoes, while nine represent department stores, cultural groups, or unique products or manufacturers.
