A cardboard sign with a black wood frame that advertises nails and tacks. Different size and gauge metal nails and tacks are stitched with cotton thread onto the black cardboard background to spell out "Tacks, Shoe Nails &c./ Manufactured by / Dunbar, Hobart & Whidden/ Abington, Mass./ Established 1810 by/ Benjamin Hobart". The tacks, now dark gray or black with age and oxidation, were once bright silver, presenting a clearer and more impressive sign than is evident by the current appearance. Formerly F-14.

Description:
A black wood framed collection of samples of embossed corporate and club seals for New York and New Jersey associations. All 61 seals are octagonal on white or beige paper, many discolored or yellowed, and many with central figures that represent the association, including the scales of justice for "The Equity Council of the American Legion of Honor", a team of horses for "Private Coachmens' Benevolent and Charitable Society", crossed paint brushes for "Protective Alliance of Scenic Painters of America", an eagle holding a letter in its beak for " Postal Employees Mutual Aid Association", and railroad car for "The Brooklyn City Railroad Company". Most are dated between 1880 and 1900. Many government organizations, private clubs and benevolent societies and local worker associations are represented in this collection. Formerly F-12.
