The source of this view is a drawing by Thomas Cole, engraved and printed by Fenner, Sears & Co., published in London by I.T. Hinton & Simkin & Marshall, 1831. Cole painted his picture of Lake George in 1826. The region around Lake George was noted for its varied, unusual beauty and associations with the early history of the United States.
