Description: 
Set of six porcelain tea bowls decorated with iron red and gold lappet band at interior rim; pink and gold husk around exterior rim; and polychromed enamel pseudo arms of New York State with gilded initials in shield on one exterior side and a gilded flower on the opposite side.

Pair of identical beaker vases with flaring rims; covered with white slip; decoration consists of blue underglaze and rust and gilded overglaze; each has two main views, one of a dragon-like bird above a fence, and the other of a single bird flying downwards towards two birds on the ground; floral and scrolling decoration over rest of vase.

These vases were part of the furnishings of Gen. John Maunsell's house at 14 Broadway at the end of the eighteenth century. They were left by his widow in 1815 to her niece, Mrs. James Beekman, and were used in Old Beekman Mansion, East River and 51st Street until 1823, when they were willed to her great-niece and namesake, the mother of the donor.

Handleless cup and saucer with gilded rim and interior border of a gilded wavy line separating a blue enamel backgound with gilded half flowers and a white background with blue half flowers; both cup and saucer also bear a pseudo-armorial insignia of love birds perched upon a black and gold bar; they are encircled by a blue enamel band with gold dots and blue and gold rays projecting outward.
