Cobalt blue non-lead glass figured flask blown in a full-size, three-part mold; flask has hand-tooled flared neck and lip, rounded shoulders, oval body decorated with twisted vertical ribs, a shield containing a standing lion with an ax on the obverse and a bunch of grapes on the reverse; flat base with a pontil mark.

Light-green, non-lead glass bottle blown in a full-sized, three-part mold (McKearin GI-107a) with a bust of Jenny Lind beneath the inscription "JENNY LIND" and above a spray of foliage on the obverse, with a glass house below the inscription "FISLERVILLE GLASS WORKS" on the reverse; bottle is calabash-shaped with molded ribs and an applied and tooled collar and a rough pontil mark; bottle is sealed with red wax and contains liquid vinegar.

This bottle is a counterfeit of a nineteenth-century Jenny Lind bottle. While the general shape and decoration of the bottle is like that of the original, there are obvious differences in the bust of Jenny Lind and the view of the glass house that clearly differentiate this from a genuine specimen.

Jenny Lind (1820-1887), the "Swedish Nightingale," was a sporano who toured America in 1850-1852 under the auspices of P.T. Barnum. Noted for her singing and her piety and charity, Lind was incredibly popular in America. Samuel Huffsey was a Philadelphia glass dealer between 1851 and 1857. The bottle may have been made at the Millford Glass Works, Millford NJ (of which Huffsey may have been an owner) or at the New Brooklyn Glass Works or the Isabella Glass Works in New Jersey.
