Cast silver tray; flat, kidney-shaped dish with applied, cast, galleried sides and an applied, cast diamond and ball band around the rim; two cast vine and leaf handles applied to opposite ends of hte tray; punched and engraved floral and geometric band around the edge of the dish; engraved and punched trefoil and geometric band around a circular reserve in the center of the tray; reserve engraved, "R/S" superimposed; engraved on the base, "Silver Wedding/ June 1st 1872" in script; makers' marks on the base.

Wrought silver centerpiece; oval, lobed bowl-shaped body with a rolled, scalloped rim and gilt interior; all over repoussé chased roses, peonies, ferns and c-scrolls on the rim with a stamped band of pointed arches where the rim meets the smooth surface of the domed bowl; bowl seated on a concave pedestal with a die-rolled scallop and foliate footring; four cast, hairy-paw feet with wide foliate legs applied to the footring; maker's mark stamped on the base.

S./ 1872" in script below the arms of the Sturgis, shield divided by a chevron with three crosslets fichée, surmounted by a talbot' head with a bow and the motto, "ESSE QUAM VIDERI" in a banner below, Lydig, shield divided by a chevron between three sickles surmounted by a helmet with two spread wings above and surrounded by foliate scrolls, Hinckley, shield with two triangles issuing from the chief to the base and a fess with ten triangles surmounted by a falcon and the motto, "DEUS GUBERNAT NAVEM" in a banner below, and Suydam, shield divided by a chevron with a star bellow and two horns above surmounted by a swan in rushes with the motto "DE TUD VLIEGT" in a banner below; no maker's mark.
