Gallery Label: 
The mark "W.FORBES" in a rectangle has been attributed to both William Garret Forbes and to his grandson William Forbes. The early stylistic features of this ladle, the bright-cut engraving, and the pointed handle suggest that it is the work of William Garret Forbes and not William Forbes as previously assigned.
