Landscape: The dominant portion of the watercolor depicts falls near Lake Tear-in-the-Clouds, the headwaters of the Hudson River. The lower border is divided into parts showing a sneaker, a Coke bottle, a hand, sunglasses, and a half-opened Hershey chocolate bar.

Gallery Label: 
The watercolor was created by the artist for inclusion in The New-York Historical Society's venue of traveling exhibition "Forever Wild". Don Nice was born in Visalia, CA, in 1932. He received his B.F.A. in 1954 from the USC and his M.F.A. in 1964 from Yale University. He has been represented by the Pace Gallery and the Nancy Hoffman Gallery in New York City. His work is represented in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney.
