This white cardboard box has blue printing on the lid and holds two lady's hair combs meant to be worn as accessories. The box reads "The India Rubber Comb Company/ New York" above a drawing of a factory, and below "Sole Manufacturers under/ Goodyear's Patents/ 1849-51". A label on the side lists patent dates up to 1858. Both combs are black, one has white glass beads for decoration.
