This button was produced in 2002 by the Blackout History Project at George Mason University for the 25th anniversary of the 1977 blackout. The GMU project, conducted via the internet (http://blackout.gmu.edu/home.html), uses the web as a research tool to reconstruct two memorable power failures that struck New York City and its surroundings-the Great Northeast Blackout of 1965, and the New York Blackout of 1977.
