Artist Keith Haring's simple playful paintings of dancing figures and glowing babies made him a beloved icon of the 1980s. His devotion to social causes gave his work a strongly political cast. Haring died of AIDS in 1990 at the age of 32. The pin and postcard, assembled by New York City artist Geoff Hendricks, were given to the donor in 2002 in honor of their friendship with Haring.
