Black wool double-breasted tailcoat; 11/2" dark blue velvet closed stand-up collar (one hook and eye); 7 buttons down each side; closed sleeves with dark blue velvet false cuffs; 4 panels across the back with 2 buttons near the center at the waistline; all buttons covered with black silk; coat and tails lined with dark green silk, sleeves lined with white silk, breast lightly padded and quilted, vertical slit pocket on the left.
