Overall oval-shaped black velvet purse (clutch bag) with silk lining; on front, trim in U-shape worked in metallic spangles and metal and glass beads, metal bead stars at top and bottom, monogram in center, metal snap fastener with undulating edges, (probably nickel) with bail at the top holding ring, probably to suspend from a belt; outdoor image worked into metal showing a house, grass, an arrow, a shed, a tree, and geometric design above hinges, reverse has no decoration or metalwork, beadwork fringe around bottom.

Description:
Black velvet purse (evening bag) with drawstring of silk cording threaded through 10 black crocheted rings, and purple silk lining, constructed of a round circular bottom encircled by a slightly flaring "wall" of fabric, a tripod beadwork tassel in center of bottom section that, when the purse is held from the top, weighs the fabric so that it appears bowl-shaped, beaded velvet balls at each end of the drawstring, two rows of bead clusters around top edge inside.
