Affixed labels indicate that bicycle was produced by the factory of George L. Brownell, located in New Bedford, MA. Brownell was a noted carriage, coach and hearse maker active in New Bedford from about 1840, and by 1889 was considered to be one of the United States' largest carriage manufacturers.
