We're celebrating Halloween on Sunday! Drop-in from 12-2 pm to create Spooky “Trick or Treat” bags for Halloween, and there are prizes for kids who come in costume!

Families will create train-inspired art, hear tales of the rails, hunt for hidden objects, and learn about the history of trains. Different programs each day!

Taste test birthday cakes! See a WWII ration book up close to see (and taste) the choices families had to make about shopping, rationing, and cooking during WWII.

Looking for good reading? Want to meet your favorite authors and hear about their creative process? Want to learn more about the time period in which the story is set? Reading into History is a book club for young historians.

The New-York Historical Society is proud to be a poster-making site for Channel THIRTEEN/WNET's 50th Anniversary, celebrating bringing New York and the tri-state area the best in public television.Kids Club THIRTEEN is holding a poster contest inviting children in the tri-state area, grades K through 8, to participate.

We Rode the Orphan Trains, by Andrea Warren, tells the true stories of eight men and women of the 200,000 homeless, abandoned, or orphaned city kids whom, between 1854 and 1929, the Children's Aid Society put on trains bound for new homes in the rural Midwest. Be prepared to learn some happy real-life tales and some sad ones.
