A tent, band, lights, and a boisterous ringmaster and magician will all be joined by the most important performers – the audience! Explore Lincoln's life and death at this Book Wrap on April 14th, the 148th anniversary of Lincoln's assassination, with author Barry Denenberg. We'll have a discussion, Q&A, and see Lincoln-related objects in the museum's collection. Don't forget to get your book signed!

About Lincoln Shot: A President's Life Remembered

The wonders of nature are a touch away when you are introduced to the world of animals by Jerry Zelenka. While blending excitement and surprise with care and understanding, Mr. Zelenka helps audiences of all ages develop an appreciation for all living things—from the ordinary to the exotic!

Celebrate Earth Day during this hour-long program at the New-York Historical Society. The audience is encouraged to touch and pet a variety of animals, including birds, lizards, tarantulas, alligators and snakes!

Keep the learning going during the March school break with scavenger hunts through the galleries, hands-on art projects, and whole-family games and challenges!

Welcome spring with this fun family concert! Folk singer and children’s musician David Grover will entertain participants, young and old, in this concert of American standards, as well as some of David’s favorite songs for kids.

Free with Museum admission; no separate tickets or reservations are needed. This concert will be held in the large Smith Auditorium.

Be transported to days and months surrounding Abraham Lincoln’s assassination with author Barry Denenberg as he reads from his book Lincoln Shot! What were the initial reports? Who was abetting John Wilkes Booth? Denenberg’s books use a reportage style to bring the events of April 14, 1865 to life, and make them unfold before young readers’ eyes. Barry Denenberg will be available to sign books after the program.

How can we talk about the toughest parts of our history with our children? To mark Yom haShoah this unique intergenerational family program presents the award winning 2012 short film, A Journey with Purpose, which documents three generations of the Becker family on their return to Auschwitz-Birkenau. We will be joined by the film maker, Gail Becker, and her son Joshua, as well as the organization Facing History and Ourselves.
